Some of you may have heard about Scott’s health issues in the last few months, starting last fall when he felt weak, tired, dizzy, and had stomach cramps for a prolonged amount of time. For those of you who haven’t heard anything about it, let me give you a quick rundown: Scott plugged the above symptoms into an internet search engine after failing to shake whatever it was that he thought he was coming down with. After doing his research, he diagnosed himself with mono, and after further research, decided he would need to see a doctor to get over the mono. I encouraged him at this point, because I knew he just needed to GET to the doctor to find out what was really wrong. Well, after a series of tests and possible diagnoses (Hepatitis, gall stones, enlarged spleen…), Dr. #1 decided to send him to a digestive disease doctor when all that showed up were elevated liver enzymes. During this time, Scott did research into some medicine he had been taking and found that some of the side effects were consistent with his symptoms, including the elevated liver enzymes, so he stopped taking that and almost simultaneously starting feeling better. However, Dr. #2 ordered more testing on his liver, and it still came back elevated. He told Scott he would see him back in a month.
One month turned into 2 1/2 when Scott couldn’t make the first appointment, and it wasn’t until yesterday that Scott went back. He had lab work done on Friday so the doctor could look at that during his appointment, and we are proud to report that there are no more increased liver enzymes!! Yeah! The doctor couldn’t say whether the medicine had anything to do with it, but Scott’s pretty sure of it. So, Scott’s doing good and he’s one step closer to becoming an Internet M.D. We will be working on his cholesterol though…
Thanks for your prayers!
