Braids, Baby Blues and Big Browns

I attempted a French braid in Reece’s hair the other day…

I probably won’t do this often:

1.  Because it took FOREVER.  Cartoons don’t seem to do the trick in keeping her still.

2.  The braids looked like mush in a matter of 2 minutes.  The girl is just way too crazy.  And her hair is way too fine.

While we were playing with hair I decided to take her outside and trim her bangs.  This would be her first haircut.  Ever.  And you can hardly tell a difference.  At least I now have a date to mark down in her baby book.

Look who plays together in the bath now…

…it would be my Blue-Eyed Girl and Brown-Eyed Girl.  Both beautiful.

The braids look awesome! If you spray a little hairspray on her comb and comb through her hair (dry) before it may help them stay longer. My mom used to have to do that with my sisters hair because it was so fine.

Your blue and brown eyed girls look precious as always!!

Props to you and those braids – I’m truly impressed. I agree with you though, for the time and energy you put into them, it’s not worth it when the braid recipient stands up to do a forward roll right off the bat and messes them up completely. (Not that something like that has ever happened to me before!) :) I’m also extremely impressed that you trimmed Reece’s bangs on your own. You and your brother might need to rethink your careers. He could use the clippers and you could use the scissors. I myself cannot trust myself with scissors near any of our children’s hair. I tried once when Nathanael was a baby and he had a good half inch gap above his right ear. Wayland trimmed the left and it looked fine. He’s always trying to outdo me! Bath time looks like it is going to be tons of fun in your house for a while. Tell those sweet sisters I love them so much and give them each a big hug and kiss from me. Love ya!

Thanks for the tip, Holley! I’ll try that in a few months when I decide to do it again.

Kaleesha…Her bangs don’t look great by any means. I just trimmed them until they weren’t in her eyes anymore, and luckily her curly hair masks any mistakes I made. :)

We just started putting all 3 into the tub together too. Looks like Reece is treating Rynn a little better than my twins treat their baby brother.
And that french braid looks awesome! Hope you are having a great summer! We are loving it except the mosquitos!

Wow! I have always wanted to be able to french braid…you’ll have to teach me sometime (when the girls are older :) )! It turned out great…esp. since you were working on a wiggly two year old! I’m impressed! By the way…Congrats on the church job! Elisa told me at S.S.! What a great job for you!!
